BLUEGRASS OLD SCHOOL
The Band
We’re the 9th Ave Allstars, a Calgary-based band keeping bluegrass old school.
As one Ironwood Stage regular put it: “They never fail to bring in and WOW the typical Ironwood crowd.”
Our group grew out of a house residency at the Ironwood Stage & Grill, a legendary venue hosting 400+ shows a year. Together, Fred Mallette (banjo), Al LaMonaca (guitar/dobro), Dale Ulan (bass), and Bruce Rohn (fiddle) bring decades of bluegrass experience to the stage.
“These guys sure play it old school…straight and traditional!” sums up what you can expect—tight picking, heartfelt singing, and a night of tunes that feel both familiar and fresh.
